I discovered VAISH at Rivoli when I got interested in classic men's style and I was looking for a bespoke tailoring house in Delhi that I can rely on for changing my wardrobe from earlier mistakes (fast fashion and short-lived, unsustainable, poorly-fitting, unflattering garments) to long-term quality, slowly-produced, sustainable, excellently fitting and proportionate, classic sartorial style and fashion for discerning and thoughtful men having good taste. Of course, excellent quality and craftsmanship should come at a price. Initially it might feel costly. But then one needs to note that bespoke at Savile Row or at Milan would be three times the price, or more.
The garments are an example of art and craftsmanship in tailoring. Hence, one needs to be patient, participative, being able to discuss, and also develop a relationship with the tailors, just as one would have a family doctor or lawyer: a one place solution. In that sense, the team at VAISH, and the key people - Sachin Vaish and his father Ashok Vaish - do a very good job in customer service and satisfaction: understanding individual needs, exploring pattern modifications, and doing multiple fittings to ensure that the final product is as good as possible. Where else can you get such a service and quality craftsmanship for your garments in this century in India!
I see many review comments here on the quality of tailoring and the finished product. But I will also add that the staff does their work quite sincerely, have respectful and supportive relationships mutually, and it matters to see that they are happy working there and doing their job well. At the end of the day you realize that your garments were not just excellent in technicalities and sartorial flavor, but also in terms of responsibility and sustainability. To me, this combination is truly important.
I wish them great luck, and more generational legacy to continue. We will be seeing a gradual come back of classic style. It is coming!

The mood in the shop is that of a serious professional tailor. They a very efficient, and stick to time as promised. When they experienced a delay between the fittings, they called me and gave me a heads up 24 hours before. They are pricey, but deliver te goods!

Vaish at Rivoli is probably the premier bespoke tailoring house in Delhi and among only a few in the country who provide the real bespoke service as well as experience with a nice store and nicer people in-store with whom I have developed a relationship that I hope will last the test of time.
I have been going to Vaish at Rivoli for two years now and though at first the prices seem higher than expected, I have had a bunch of clothes made and always been impressed with the fit and end product every time. For a new comer to this world, the value is not evident right away, probably a reason many folk go to faster services, but its when you wear the clothes a few times that you realise the benefits of the materials and craftsmanship (fit, comfort, and quality) attached to the price tag as well as time taken to make your clothes.
Go to Vaish at Rivoli for an experience in an old school process which takes time and produces clothes that will probably last years and give you the joy of wearing unique garments made just for you.
It's not just the willingness to pay for bespoke tailored clothes and wait it out to get your clothes over a few weeks, you need to be ready for multiple visits for fittings too, and ensure that you are thorough with what you want, which will include ensuring every detail is noted. I have found that diligence is needed on both sides, which made me forget the cost of bespoke clothes from Vaish at Rivoli and value the effort from both Vaish and me to get my clothes, which are fabulous and I look forward to wearing them for years. In fact I find myself gravitated to the establishment regularly for finding the next items of clothing that I can’t seem to resist!
After numerous visits, spending many hours looking at fabric, drinking coffee, mulling over options, chatting with the business owners and staff, learning about the process and fabrics, and waiting for fittings, I am a delighted customer who can't recommend the store and experience enough.
This family run third generation business is top drawer and has few peers. You must try them, but budget some time to savour the experience!

From the moment I stepped into Vaish at Rivoli, it was apparent I was in expert hands. I’d scheduled the appointment beforehand, and Sachin, the owner, was there to greet me personally. And of course, he was also there each time I returned to the store for subsequent trials and fittings – he guided every stage of the process reflecting decades (and generations) of tailoring heritage.
What stood out most was the listening. Invariably the run-on-the-mill outfitters want to tell you what to wear and how to wear it, but not so with Vaish at Rivoli. Sachin took time to understand where and how I’d wear the suit, how I feel about clothes, even my posture. He translated that into something that matched both my aesthetic and practicality, then refined the cut across three more fittings until every line sat perfectly.
The workshop’s craftsmanship is unmistakable – sharp lapels, balanced shoulders, and hand finished buttonholes – but it’s Sachin’s (and his teams) professionalism that elevates the experience. He kept timelines realistic, shared progress photos, and delivered the final suit ahead of schedule.
In a market, especially in India, where “bespoke” is often just marketing jargon, Vaish at Rivoli remains the real deal: old school service, modern efficiency, and genuine pride in the outcome. Highly recommended for anyone who values precision and a tailor who truly cares.

If Vaish merely had the nicest and most expert tailors with access to all the best international fabrics it would be worthy of note. The third generation family run real deal bespoke suiting experience is what puts this operation into the stratosphere. You may think you’ve been to a tailor for a “custom” suit but what you likely purchased was made to measure from a standard pattern with some adjustments made to your frame. Vaish gives you access to the rarefied world of completely bespoke suiting for prices that are relatively accessible. I can’t recommend this warm and convivial, family run store more highly.

I was on a very tight schedule on my short trip to India from Canada and wanted to get a bespoke suit made. They went above and beyond to accommodate 4 fittings in the span of a week and deliver a beautiful double-breasted suit. They carry some of the finest fabrics from around the world. The tailors are trained in the art of true bespoke. The fit is immaculate. The professionalism and courteousness is to die for. Getting my suits and jackets made from them for 25 years and now that my Son is ready, I got him his first bespoke jacket from them. Yes, I know, I am being indulgent.
I once cheated and bought a made to measure suit (was on a time crunch), suffice to say, it made me realise even more what an excellent product Vaish @ Rivoli create. So beware, once you get used to their quality, there is no going back :). If you are in the market for a high quality, beautifully crafted suit or jacket, made from the best fabric. This is the place to go to. Plan for a minimum of 2-3 fitting sessions and then the final delivery. So end to end around three weeks minimally. Good things take time.
Addendum - yes, they are very accommodating and responsive - so if you are short on time. Better to discuss your schedule with them and the options they suggest.

They were very accommodating of all my requests, a noteworthy one being the English style pleats on my trousers for which they had to redo the trousers on the rough fabric. Truly a great experience- on a trip I will always remember. Had the pleasure of dealing with Sachin Vaish and his team, who were given a very small operating window to construct a completely bespoke suit (may have even tossed in a new shirt..) to be used at a close friends wedding in Delhi. Having been in contact ahead of time, Sachin was able to accommodate my needs. I am no stranger to bespoke tailoring, so I knew my request was not a simple one. 5 days, and 6 fittings later, Sachin had created a fantastic fully bespoke suit. I very recently had two jacket and trousers combinations tailored at Vaish at Rivoli and I could not be happier with the experience. The process, starting with the measurements, the first fitting with a canvas pattern, and four subsequent jacket fittings were painstaking and with an attention to detail that was impressive. The final product, with the full floating canvas lining, the working cuff buttons, and the hand stitched finish throughout the edges, fit perfectly and the cut was sharp and shapely, truly marvelous jackets. Throughout the process Sachin Vaish discussed with me why he would proceed in a particular way, and when he was occupied with other customers, his father Ashok Vaish would supervise the fittings. Vaish has a very wide selection of quality fabrics available and Sachin provided excellent advice in helping me make my selections Altogether, a most satisfactory experience from start to finish. Vaish is not inexpensive by any means, but the bespoke tailoring experience they offer, even at their prices, is a bargain.

My experience with Vaish at Rivoli unfortunately fell far short of their reputation. I found their staff to be pushy and dismissive with fabric choices, and was in fact lied to about the brand and quality of fabric I had chosen. I have no idea why they felt the need to lie to me since I was the one who chose the fabric, but nevertheless, they even wrote down the name of a European import fabric of Super 140s quality, when in fact it was a domestic fabric of Super 120s quality. I brought this to the attention of the owner who agreed to follow up with my concern, when I returned to pick up my items, he spoke in Hindi to his staff regarding the lie, but no effort was made to address the concern with me until I confronted them again before I left, at which time the owner acknowledged a price difference and refunded a small portion. Based on my experience as an international client, I could not recommend their services, especially if it is your first bespoke purchase.

We are sure there is a misunderstanding in your case, primarily caused by your seeking a change in the cloth after initially placing the order. We did not have any intention of misleading you! However it is an important feedback for us to look into and rectify customer experience both at an internal level and with your order, for which we will be contacting you directly. Thank you for the same. Having said that, please also consider that a bespoke suit and experience must be judged on many parameters including the 1.Fit 2.Construction/ tailoring 3.Styling details 4.Value 5.Cloth quality. It must be said that a layman, for any product, may find it easy to judge the quality of a product by the popular numeric value assigned to it, when he/ she might find it hard to understand the nuances of all the aspects of the same. Your suit has some amazing high end bespoke tailoring features like a full hand canvassed construction, a proper bespoke fitting process including a first fitting in a toile baste up, high level of hand tailoring including 11 hand made button holes, hand made pick stitching and a Milanese buttonhole on the lapel. These features are usually found in suits upwards of US$2500, if not much more. At approximately US$750 which you paid, this is very good value. Also a super 120s count cloth is a very nice quality and used by many top brands and tailors around the world for some fine suits. Hence, while there might have been a misunderstanding in your order partly caused by a change in your selection of cloth, we would not consider this a failed bespoke experience. At the end of the day how our clients feel is more important to us and we apologise for any misunderstanding. Your feedback is being addressed directly with you in monetary terms as well.

If you are looking for bespoke suits then there is no better place. They believe in perfection. The suit will fit like a second skin.
The process is fascinating. They will first make a dummy suit in a different fabric. You try it on and then they will rip it apart. Next visit you get to try on the suit in the fabric you choose.
PS they have the best fabrics from the world's finest mills.

However, it so happened that we had two of our master tailors available who had just returned from a summer vacation work on your suit jacket at the same time. Usually for a short visit from our overseas customer, we accommodate all the fittings within their short stay, then complete work and ship out the clothes later.

Prior to traveling to New Delhi in Feb-March 2023, I had shortlisted Vaish Tailor at Rivoli (based on the reviews here)to get couple of suits tailored for me and my son. Based on our personal experience, I will say it exceeded our expectation.
We had a very tight schedule, as we were traveling to multiple cities during this particular trip to India apart from spending some time in New Delhi. Hence, Vaish Tailor had very little time to provide the bespoke experience that they are so famously known for. Yet, they worked round the clock, around our availability, to deliver the shirts and the couple of suits before we departed for Canada. Not only that, they delivered a memorable experience that one would expect while following the various steps of the famously known bespoke tailoring.
I had selected the fabric and the styling of the suit and the suits came out like a work of art in the hands of Mohsin Masterji. Mohsin is the master tailor, who crafted our suits. He was very kind to listen to our ideas and then provided his suggestions that made our suits very appealing. For my son, this was his first time to experience bespoke tailoring. And I am happy that it came about at Vaish Tailors at Rivoli. Mr. Ashok Vaish attended to us personally and ensured that our suits were completed before we left India.
I want to thank Mohsin Masterji and his team for taking good care of us and Mr. Ashok ji for ensuring that all our suits and shirts were ready in a timely manner. I have no hesitation in recommending their services to anyone who is seeking the finest suits in India. From now on, a visit to Vaish Tailor at Rivoli would be on our itinerary whenever we visit India.

I had a marvelous experience at Vaish and ended up with a stylish blue suit that people can't stop complimenting Stateside. This was true bespoke. At a time when the word 'bespoke' is being misused (/abused) by many tailors in India, I believe the Vaish House represents one of the only true bespoke tailoring establishments in the country. I have had the pleasure of commissioning more than 10 suits / jackets at Vaish over the last 5 years, on my visits to India, and swear by their fit, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Having tried numerous tailors across India and in The Netherlands, I have to acknowledge that nothing else quite fits like my Vaish garments.
One of the team’s key strengths I believe, is also the ability to meet tight deadlines. Of course, it helps if you plan ahead - eg, before my last visit to India, Ashokji had helped me select and pre-order exactly the kinds of (heavy/warm) fabrics that I had in mind. With Vaish, I've been able to cover off most stylistic bases - single/double breasted, different lapel widths, various pocket styles, different buttoning points and a variety of fabrics including cavalry twill, cashmere, tweeds and linen blends. The finished product has always been fantastic and the process always extremely enjoyable.
Over the last few years, going through the process of commissioning these garments with Vaish, the team has also helped me better define my own sense of style – something that is unique to me and is all about the little details that matter to me - and that is exactly what a bespoke process allows you to discover.

I visited Delhi this summer and wanted to get a high spec bespoke suit for social events. I have been told that Vaish at Rivoli was the best in town, and I am very happy with the suit I got. Sachin's work and hospitality are exactly what you would expect from your luxury tailor. My only regret is that they don't visit London.

The tailors of Vaish were very professional, friendly, and able to do 2 quick fittings in 2 days before my flight out of Delhi and then they shipped my suit promptly to me in the USA. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a sleek handmade suit!

Got a shirt stitched with them. The entire experience was awesome. At face value, the garment seems expensive but when you consider the quality, it works out cheaper than the alternatives and is great value for money. After multiple washes and usual abuse from the neighbourhood pressing service, the fabric holds well and maintains the shine, the stitches are solid and intact and the cuffs and collars are as good as new! The fit is perfect (they are more finicky about it than the customers!) and it was a full bespoke experience with a trial shirt and fittings. I strongly recommend them for all the wardrobe staples.

I had three shirts made on my visit to Delhi. It was an allround great experience and I am very happy with the result. I was unable to pick up the shirts in person (although they were done very quickly) but they were sent to my UK address. Perfect service!
