The 41st edition of the CRD Patna Book Fair is currently underway at Gandhi Maidan from December 5-16, 2025, with the theme “Wellness – A Way of Life”. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the event, which features over 200 stalls from 100+ publishing houses, more than 300 cultural programs including author talks, poetry sessions (mushairas and kavi sammelans), cinema screenings, school festivals, and youth storytelling events. I visited Gandhi Maidan recently when a handcrafted fair was happening. The event itself was nice, but the condition of the field wasn’t great. The soil was extremely dry, and dust was constantly flying in the air, making it uncomfortable to walk around. I feel the government should invest in maintaining the ground better, maybe by planting grass to reduce the dust issue. It’s a historic and important place in Patna, but it needs better upkeep.

A lots of people gather there every time either it be morning aur evening to enjoy, play, physical training etc. In this place especially in winter coming days like oct, nov ,dec...there is a carnival in which a lots of things present either it be clothes, accessories, edible things etc. I enjoy there a Saras mela carnival. Every time you visit the place you will see something happening. The ground is clean and very big in the area. Overall my experience visiting this ground is always happening and wonderful.
