I had an amazing experience working with Shanthi Tailors. The staff was very cooperative and attentive. They were patient when we selected the sarees for the Arangetram costumes and offered great suggestions for the style. They didn’t flinch even when I asked to deliver an additional costume in a short time.
The tailors did an amazing job with the stitching, the fabrics were of good quality, and the shipping was quick. Overall, I highly recommend working with them for your costume needs 🙂

We have purchased Margam jewellery set from this store. We selected a set worth Rs 18000 and asked the store to send the set via courier as we stay too far in Aurangabad , Maharashtra. We received the set in good time. Two days before my daughter's Arangetram, we found that the head set I.e. Bindi was broken and it was pasted by some chemical. We informed about this to the sales person of Shanthi Tailors. But he did not respond. We are really disappointed and will never recommend this store to anybody.

Do not order anything from Shanti tailors online. It is a scam! I ordered few practice Sarees on March 18 and to this day there is no update. When we call they say they will call and provide an update after checking. But never calls back. I have not received any emails, calls or updates regarding the status of my order.
Latest update: a few seconds after I made this review in google, I received a call regarding this order. The claim that they are making is incorrect. They never told us how long will it take to get the order ready nor responded with that information. I had to make this post to get a response from them. But they had informed us that they have the facility to ship it to the US address, if needed. The latest update is they will ship it by this weekend!!
Update as of 5/1/25: I finally received the shipment with the custom made products to the US address. Thank you and the product meets our expectations. Thank you Shanti tailors!!

Hi Mam, The Order was a custome Readymade practicse saree order and we which usually takes a month to deliver, we also spoke to your husband couple of times about the delay and we also informed further delay we will be seding the package to you USA Address instead of Kerala.
Its a 58 years old store and we have trust of all the dancers across. please do lets us know if the order need to cancelled we can cancel and refund immediatly.
Its so easy to use a word scam, if need to do that we provide the faclity of shipping directly to USA on our cost.

The most horrible experience when it comes to stitching a blouse as it was messed up for an entire group of dance school students who came to you all tje way from USA. Plus a costly arangetram saree blouse that was also messed up despite giving the measurement in person!! The follow up customer experience over a phone call was equally bad with no proper answers for the mess or on how they'll help fix it. The charges for stitching is in thousands, clearly no respect for the service they offer. Highly DO NOT recommend stitching anything here. Please avoid at all possible cost. This is not a fake review but a frustrated customer experience view

Update: As per your Costume during the order we have mentioned there would be a blouse issue and suggested advice on what needs to be done. which was not applied when you tried the costumes and we informed again on the video call with your wife. we even offered to alter or do a new blouse but still, that issue will be there unless the suggestions given by us needs to be applied considering the measurement issue.
Hi, Can we have your order number so we can check the details? Also when it comes to blouse fitting we cannot guarantee a perfect fitting unless they are grown up adults. while ordering the costume itself we have mentioned what issues will come and what needs to corrected if it happens. we have been stitching these costumes for 58 years and atleast 400 outfits and month and shipping across the world. we have 5 member support team to take you calls and messages.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the unprofessional and unacceptable behavior displayed by your staff member, Ms. Jayanthi.
I had paid the amount well in advance and informed your team multiple times that I would be out of station and that a staff member would be attending on my behalf. Despite this prior communication, Ms. Jayanthi was extremely rude, refused to listen, and raised her voice at the representative without attempting to understand the situation. This behavior is completely uncalled for and reflects poorly on your customer service standards.
I strongly urge the management to look into this matter seriously and advise Ms. Jayanthi appropriately. No customer deserves to be treated with such disrespect after having fulfilled all obligations and communicated in good faith.

I gave my dance Jewellery for repair about a week ago. I have been trying to contact them by phone to get an update but no one answers the phone call. I tried their two landline numbers given on the bill and also their mobile number. No response whatsoever !! It seems I have to go in person to their shop to get an update …terrible service !!

Visited Chennai to shop Bharathanatiyam jewelry and accessories for my daughters upcoming arangetram!! I would recommend Shanthi tailors a one stop shop for all the jewelry and accessories. They had variety of long /small harams, jimiki, maatal, thala saman, even ottiyanam in silver.
We landed in this place after exploring GRT jewelers in t-nagar and adharsh jewelers in Mylapore. The latter lagged designs and this shop catered our needs. All accessories like balls, pins, hair, Ramada bun, flowers, etc were fantastic and bought here. They have practice saree collections too.
Found this store to be pricey than all others.
Highly recommend this place.

Best finishing work i have ever seen in bharatnatyam costume..size is perfect..stitching is so good nd they also provide good margin so that we can alter later on..Communication is little difficult but staff is polite and good.. Give them at-least 1 month after giving info from your side..they will provide best as per your choice and design.

One of the worst tailors. We gave them 4 Kanchi silk sarees for stitching for arangetram costume. They were so unprofessional from the start and shipped it with the cheapest mode of shipping without even insuring it or informing us. The package was lost during shipping and we lost all 4 costumes. Its not just the money but waste of precious time that we took in selecting those sarees during our vacation to India. Our woes dont end here. We bought second set of sarees and gave them for stitching but this time they messed up with the measurements. The costumes were so small and not even to the measurements that we gave? When asked they denied and were totally unapologetic and very unprofessional. Will never go back to them. Please avoid them if possible especially if you are from USA

I have yet to see the stitching quality but as far as customer service goes it is a complete disaster. It has been 24 days since the order. One has to keep following up. I had paid stitching and courier charges in advance. No response from the service team. I kept sending reminders on WhatsApp and calls but no use. Simply saying that we have lot of orders is not the solution. That just reeks of arrogance. Least she could say was a sorry. Instead she says I should have called and checked if courier has left. Simply 👍🏽 great!I have asked for a refund of courier charges, still waiting for the reply.

This is a great place to stitch your bharatanatyam costume. Also it's a great place to buy your accessories. People here are professional enough. But there e 2 to 3 staffs who are extremely lazy to help you out. You might have to look for the shop owner or the senior tailor for measurement or alteration or to check availability of variety of accessories available there. But I found a really good collection of all dance needs here
